We’ve seen the batman/alfred dynamic so many times, we don’t need to see it again. I want to see an already traumatised batman lose the closest person in his life. That’s a way more interesting development for me. Then batman would truly hate the riddler and the riddler would have so much more of a consequence to the plot. Do we really need to see Alfred again, he’s not interesting enough that he MUST be in the movie. It’s not worth keeping him in exchange for a loss of stakes. I also didn’t particularly care about Andy serkis as Alfred, he was just fine.

I mean it’s not like i cared about her character or was emotionally affected when she died but it was at least something, it was stakes. But NOPE, she actually got shot in the stomach and is completely fine. Catwoman had falcone in her gunsight and happened to miss. Why? For any good reason? No. Because that’s what needed to happen for the plot. It wasn’t realistic. She could have walked closer if she’s a bad aim. At least do us the courtesy of having a reason why she didn’t hit him then. Why not have it so falcone grabs his guard and uses him as a body shield to block the bullet. I wouldn’t have loved that or anything but it at least gives us a reason why she missed. Because when people miss for no reason, it lowers the stakes and reminds you it’s a kids movie.
