I didn’t like the When All Else Fails Turn Up The Music And Dance With Your Dog Snoopy Shirt it is in the first place but performance of Commissioner Gordon. Something about it made it so obvious he was acting, and came off as corny to me. I’ve liked that actor in other roles but I thought he did a poor job here. Catwoman felt incredibly unneeded and like she was put in for romance that in no way felt warranted. The relationship wasn’t built in a way where that kiss felt natural at all. It didn’t suit the tone at all and felt like a stereotypical cheesy superhero movie rather than more mature film this tries to be. The film ends with Bruce choosing the city over catwoman, as if they had built up their relationship effectively enough in any way that bruce would even consider choosing her. They were somewhat cold to eachother and then suddenly she kissed him. I didn’t feel true chemistry between them at all. Also this bruce wayne portrayed here is a very introverted and mentally scarred individual who i don’t believe would be so open to the advances of the woman. I personally would’ve liked to see him almost scared of her touch as he’s been so emotionally traumatised that he doesn’t want anyone close to him. I feel like the character they set up would be uncomfortable with her advances (even if deep down he wants her touch) and thus his response and openness seemed uncharacteristic to me.

Also Catwoman seemed like a more interesting a dimensional character before she fell into the When All Else Fails Turn Up The Music And Dance With Your Dog Snoopy Shirt it is in the first place but femme fatale love interest of batman trope. I’m aware that’s sort of the point of her, but I liked it more when it was platonic towards the start I would have at least liked a slower development of chemistry, and no kiss shared between them in this movie. This bruce would have his walls up so high he wouldn’t kiss back. She would have to work hard to break down his walls before he would even think about opening up, at least in my opinion. I think it would have worked better if the development was less dramatic than a kiss, but just him finally having moments of levity or something. If they didn’t kiss, then the tension would still be there, making it more effective imo. And we wouldn’t have the cliche, eye-rollish hollywood moment of the kiss that felt so unlike the tone of the rest of the movie. The stakes. I hate when stakes aren’t there. At the start of the movie I felt like there was gonna be stakes in the movie but I was sorely let down as it went on. I want to feel like characters actually have the possibility of dying and I did for a while.
