Not “when you’re comfortable”. Get a clear job description with realistic/measurable goals. Have a performance evaluation in 6 months. Should you meet expectations, you get the raise. Should you not meet expectations, they need to provide clear feedback on exactly what needs to improve. Then another evaluation after 3 months. The raise and title bump also need to be agreed upon in writing before you start your duties. Don’t leave it up to their discretion, because they will screw you over. What to do if they don’t hold up their end of the bargain, is up to you. I would polish my resume and start browsing anyway.
