My husband iPhone 6s is still going strong in fact it has a better battery life then my brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max and i find that insane Sony Xperia XZ2 compact from early 2018 over here, still going strong and still love it. Battery still holds up surprisingly well compared to my previous Samsung S6 edge.. They do now after Apple got found out for intentionally slowing down older iPhones in iOS updates. Still on my 8 and not upgrading until I get a fingerprint reader again. But vow myself not to upgrade for a few years Our consumer protection laws require goods to last as long as an average person would “reasonably expect” it to. So if an average person reasonably expects the phone to last 5 years, then that is how long the warranty IS regardless of whatever the company thinks it should be. I had my 6s from its launch until this year. That’s 7 years. Literally worked fine. I only got a new one because I dropped it on hard tile when I happened to not have a case on it. Went from pristine to completely decimated and shattered more than I’ve ever seen a phone function with, and it still worked for a few more weeks. If you take care of your things and buy smart you’ll be fine. I’ll be using my 13 for a long time. This idea that phones only last 2 years is absolutely moronic. I’ll clarify even further: if you think anybody needs a phone every 2 years you are being idiotic, especially if you have the balls to complain about it.

No, 90% of people are just greedy and choose to pay for a new device every 24 months. Phones will absolutely last you 5 years if you choose to keep them that long. I’m on a OnePlus 3t that would probably run alright with a new battery but by the time I get the battery, etc , it would be smarter to get a new phone. Make phones easier to repair.
