My iPhone 4 lasted from when I bought it (launch year) till the Washington MILF Man I Love Freedom Patriotic 4th of July T-Shirt Besides,I will do this launch of the iPhone 8. And I didn’t break and still works. I bought the iphone8 and I’m still using it today. There’s a reason corporations like things like fast fashion in clothing, cars, phones and other electronics. 🙂 Still on iPhone 6s as I type this. To be fair, it has been protected with a nice otter box case since purchase. Still using my 7 Plus with no issues. Doesn’t even have a scratch on it. I’ve gone thru 3 Mophie battery cases though. Is it the phone or the network upgrades tho? My 2020 se working good after 2 yrs of abuse but starting to have issues connecting to data, I’d imagine it’s cause the 5G rollout Apple has been building phones that last for at least 5 years since the iPhone 4S (on a technicality). The 4S did go from iOS 5 to 9 (5 years of updates) but it was very slow on iOS 9. Now, the iPhone 5 was the first phone that got 5 years of updates and didn’t feel slow on the final update, iOS 10. But imagine getting 5 years of use from a phone made in 2011-2012. On an Android, that is truly unheard of, but the iPhone could do it. This was a period when Smartphone innovations were still happening at a rapid pace, so it is insane to see the longevity that those phones got. Now it’s easy to imagine an iPhone getting nearly a decade of software support while Androids that come out today still, on average, get 2-3 years of support nat best, and that’s if you are using a flagship phone or a brand like Samsung and Google. Hell, there are people still rocking iPhone 6S devices that do everything they need out of them while also having up to date security and software features. People don’t give Apple enough credit for what they do, and even buying a 3 year old iPhone on a heavy discount refurbished is a safe bet for those looking for a phone on a budget, because I can almost guarantee any budget Android phone will be lucky to get 1 major software update and 2 years of security updates.

But it’s not the Washington MILF Man I Love Freedom Patriotic 4th of July T-Shirt Besides,I will do this build quality so much as the newest updates & apps demanding more power/storage as time passes! My iPhone 4 was pristine before upgrading to a 6s as was my 6s before upgrading to an 11. Put them in cases & applied glass screen protectors within minutes of getting each. The 11 is going to be similarly perfect once I get a 14 Pro Max. The build quality on each has been excellent and the phones weren’t babied either. They simply couldn’t keep up with the demands of newer software. Typing from Note 9 which released in August, 18 so getting close to 4 years. Yes, it’s little slow to open up apps but that’s about it. Huawei P30 Pro 3+ years. Battery is still amazing, phone is fast as hell and camera is definitely still among the top performing out there! Not sure why this wasn’t the rule to begin with. It is understandable to have healthy competition and steady growth in a less than regulated industry, but it seems like phones only actually get better when microchips get better, when batteries get cheaper and laster longer, when screen technology gets thinner etc. It doesn’t make sense to be launching 10+ different models a year then offer multiple sizes and ranges of memory storage and damage resistance. Kind of backward way of building a daily handheld, more like they are squeezing the public out of as much money as they can while they can before government steps in and regulates the shit out of phone tech so there’s less waste, better repair services, and more modular options in the market for longer lasting usage. Wife and I still using a 7. Don’t care for newer but the battery life is absolutely trashed atm. 20min ride with google maps on easily eats 10-15%.
