If there is an EV civic around when this car is replaced that is what I’ll get. The eGolf is similar to this idea. Looks just like a regular Golf. I have one and it’s perfect for my needs and can charge overnight on a regular outlet. But because they’ve had to try and shove the batteries into the bits where traditional car bits go, you can’t get as much range out of them as the ID3 (which is basically the Golf replacement). That’s an interesting point I hadn’t thought of. Lower range is definitely an issue of concern, luckily for my needs it works due to staying in town for driving.

If I had to take frequent or semi frequent trips longer than 60 miles round trip or more lower range would be a major issue. Many other manufacturers decide they need to make EVs look like they were designed by aliens. Most potential EV buyers just want a normal looking car. The only thing that scares me with Sony being involved is that they like proprietary formats. As long as they can use a universal standard it sounds great. It’s ironic that most of Sony formats that failed were often technologically better that the winning competitor format.
