I then gave it to my parents. The thing is still going today. I found out too late that my uncle got $200 in trade-in value for his old Civic hatchback. I think the door panels were missing, etc. I was a broke college kid, but I could have really used a car.

I drove Civics when I was single, upgraded to Accord when married, Honda CRV when i had my son, Honda Pilot when my 2nd was born, and currently at an Oddyssey with my wife and three kids. Safe to say, i like Hondas. One day when you retire and your kids are successful they will gift you a NSX for your like.. 60th or some shit. The driveway at my parent’s place when I come over to visit looks like an ad for Honda. My dad drives a Clarity and my mom drives a CR-V. Compared to my fiancée’s 2014 Mazda CX-5 that has to go in the shop every 5 months from some issue or an other. My Civics only ever went to the shop for oil changes and other minor stuff. I’m still in my first Civic, it’s been a great car but I’m ready for something a little more refined. I hope the quality and features keep increasing because if they get slightly quieter and faster each generation, I could see myself sticking with them for a while too. im on my 06 civic manual with 225k miles which I bought new at the time. and this might be the thing that does it for me. Its difficult to beat a civic for a daily driver. I just spend my car money on stuff I have more choice over. its only honda and toyota for me, maybe an mx5 if im feeling a bit wild.
