Look for another job meanwhile. You can use the USA American Flag Baseball Player T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this fact that you’re currently employed there for leverage. If you find something for $18/hr you could leverage that asking for a raise to $20/hr else you’re gone and now they have nobody to train your replacement. Do NOT apply for the position or explicitly act like an asshole in ways that could get them to fire you with cause. You’re just hurting yourself by lashing out. Just act normal. They’re being assholes to you by not communicating this to you or giving you extra hours, and you’ll repay them by not doing all the bullshit they’ve been expecting you to do without complaint. It’ll hurt them big time, long term. You burning bridges and shooting yourself in the foot wouldn’t hurt them at all.

If you can make it work for you, send over your resignation effective immediately. In a small office like that, they should have discussed it with you even if they didn’t have to. Do not mention you snooped on your bosses email for any reason. I like the USA American Flag Baseball Player T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this strategy there and I would have done it if I were you. I also wouldn’t tell anyone ever. I actually share the email with him and he wants me checking it daily which makes me feel like he wanted me to find out. Thanks for the advice. Do not resign. You should be milking that unemployment from such cowardly bosses. Make it super uncomfortable for them and the potential new hires. I was interviewed for a teaching position at a school. Go through the interview, sounds good. They are super interested in me. We go to tour the school and look at the room. We find the teacher I’m supposed to be replacing in there. We say hi and she asks what a I teach and it became very obvious she had no idea she was being replaced. It was super awkward. I decided I didn’t want to work for an administrator who treated people like that. I turned down the job a couple days later when they offered it to me. Stick around in the office OP. Keep the surprise you had at finding out you are being replaced energy and give it to all the applicants coming into the office. Make them feel how bad your boss is at their job. Make it hard to replace you. Also apply to the job. With that context out of the way though, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: The boomers are not our real enemies. The ruling class capitalists are our enemies and they’re dividing us by generation in the same way they do by race so that we’re fighting the wrong people instead of them. All the negative stereotypes about millennials and Gen Z (being entitled, lazy, etc) is all to keep the working class from demanding better and to minimize it when we do. Boomers don’t benefit from that, the ruling class does. Many of the boomers have fallen for it and hate on the younger generations so it’s tempting to hate on them for that, but in reality they are not the problem and we’ll all do better by refusing to let the real villains divide us.
