It’s because right now it’s an arms race. Adblocks are needing to update a lot more frequently to work around YouTube. The workarounds aren’t going to just work for long. Or hell, use ad-blocking DNS. I use Adguard (94.140.14.14 and 94.140.15.15) and it’s been great for making ads go bye-bye. Edit: This won’t work for YouTube, however, because it delivers ads on the Tim Anderson Igniter American professional baseball shortstop T-Shirt in other words I will buy this same domain as YouTube itself. Works great for everyone else however. the last week in particular has been brutal even with Youtube on Roku. I’ve got a grandkid about to toss a remote at the tv. And then when you have little ones in the house in the modern era, they don’t understand 2 minute commercial breaks at all, much less happening every 2-4 minutes while they’re watching Bluey… I was raised on commercial breaks every 15 minutes, and at this point, even I can’t even take that anymore. Have gotten used to the modern post-broadcast, post-cable era. As the saying goes, you can’t put the genie back in the bottle…

What I don’t get, is there are better, non-intrusive ways to interactively advertise now without interrupting the Tim Anderson Igniter American professional baseball shortstop T-Shirt in other words I will buy this program. Why still use the 1950’s method that just infuriates the GenZ’s around me, and the newbie Alpha’s? Kid’s shows are still basically glorified ads. Many shows are aired primarily to sell plastic to children, and many shows with high viewership and critical acclaim have been cancelled purely because they weren’t making as much money off the toy lines as they thought they should be making. It’s so bad. My phone broke and I started using my switch for youtube videos while cooking. Just a MINUTE in and I’m already getting a second batch of ads. What in the actual fuck. Like bro, we might have sucked it up and lived with it if they hadn’t made it so fucking ridiculous. It’s just obscene. It’s like they’re pulling a Twitter and intentionally torching their own website.
