Ive been clinging onto chrome instead of brave browser for a while now. But it just keeps getting more and more appealing. (default blocks ads, including youtube right now) Well unfortunately brave is chromium, which is the Tim Anderson Shhh Signature American professional baseball shortstop T-Shirt it is in the first place but same base program as Chrome and developed by google. Google, in a move that is totally for security reasons, is limiting how much adblockers can do in upcoming updates. I’m always getting recommended little 10 second funny videos, but then it wants me to watch an ad for 15 seconds. Fuck. That. Use Firefox and uBlock Origin. Purge all caches in the settings, under the “filters list” tab, and update once in a while, and you will never see another Youtube ad again. It’s literally 5 whole clicks and maybe 20 seconds of work from start to finish, maybe once every 2 or 3 days to make sure you are not served any YouTube spammy, cancerous ads. You click the addon icon, click the settings gear, the settings page automatically opens and takes you to it, then you click the filter lists tab. From there you simply click “Purge all caches” and then after that, you click “update now”. Google “NewPipe”. It’s an Android app that lets you watch YouTube through it, which bypasses YouTube’s bullshit entirely. It also lets you download videos, download them audio-only, listen to it with the screen off, and it has a picture-in-picture mode. For goddamn free. Only issue is, due to how it imports your subscription list and doesn’t actually touch your YouTube account (duh), you can’t subscribe to new channels, like a video, or comment. If you want to subscribe to something, you need to use the official app, subscribe, then re-import your subscription list.

You bring up a good point. Corporations blocking adblockers should be sanctioned for deliberately creating security vulnerabilities on clients. ublock origin and privacy badger. Click the settings gears. Go to filters. Click “purge all filters” or whatever it says. It’s one of the big buttons at the top. You should see each of the lines on the page should have little spinning wheels for a few seconds. Then after that restart your browser and you should be good to go ‘Purge all cache’ and then ‘update now’ in the dashboard, when you click on the extension icon there should also be a settings icon if I’m not wrong.
