Yesterday, I had my neighbor tell me in single breath that they don’t want to hear people complain about not being able to afford a mortgage, how everyone wants at least $18 an hour and how their kid can’t move out in their mid 20’s because they can’t afford the This My Christmas Pajama Dog With Santa Hat Vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this rent. They just seem to not understand that a brand new car in the 80’s costed them 785 hours of work while nowadays it costs 2410 hours of work. that’s 20 weeks vs 60 weeks of pay. Sometimes I truly wonder how someone born into capitalism can understand so little, while my parents who lived under communism for half their lives can grasp it so easily. The hate on boomers didn’t start with today’s teens. It started while GenX were teens and I say this with lived first hand experience. We were the first generation boomers tried to fuck over. By the time we late teens and early 20s, it was quite evident that they had mostly lost any notion of live, peace, and equality the generation of hippies and beatnicks live to claim they embraced in their youth.

Sorry I had to do it. Ya’ll got the This My Christmas Pajama Dog With Santa Hat Vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this shaft first and people forget ya’ll even exist. I’ll be pouring one out for you after work this morning. They raised my generation. They made us the way we are. And then they blame us for our attitude. And lack of life skills. In short, they have broken one of the most sacred and long running traditions in all of humanity… leave the world better for the next generation than you had it in yours. They have taken unprecedented wealth, peace, prosperity, voting power, influence, etc. And they have squandered it selfishly… leaving behind a world which is more unstable, violent, dangerous, and damaged than the one they inherited. By every conceivable metric… economic, environmental, political, moral, we are worse off for the decisions they have made. And while there are many contributing factors, the one constant and indefensible fact: This all happened on their watch. They (and I quote from a boomer) walked into a random job and if they didn’t like it, just walked into another random job willynilly. Often they didn’t even really need education or much of a background check. There wasn’t gatekeeping to high level or skilled jobs because you could get them and just train and get promoted continuously. They bought houses for monkeynuts and have sold them back to desperate newer generations at astronomical prices yet whine that we don’t know how to save. They’re often technophobes and some flat out don’t want to learn anything new. They expect people to handhold them and baby them through anything outwith their comfort zone.
