I actually took a trip over to where I used to live and walked past our old house and had a look through the This isn’t a crack house It’s A crack home ugly christmas shirt moreover I love this kitchen window and they’ve coveted over the serving hatch. Very disappointing. My Grandma and Grandad had one from the kitchen through to the dining room. Was very handy as they used to run a b&b. I don’t think they put it in themselves, I think it was just there. It wasn’t used all the time, just occasionally. My best friends parents still have one. They have quite a large house but goes from the kitchen to the lounge – probably was meant to be a dining room back in the day. But now it’s just used to teach the dog how to do tricks. The amount of times we’d scare the shit out of who was sitting on the sofa underneath it when we’d stick our head through and ask something about what was going on on the TV. Yes we used to have one between our kitchen and lounge/diner. I have fond memories as a child peeking through the hatch into the kitchen asking mum if dinner was ready. And it being passed through. I used to watch her cook through that little hatch. Same as you I’ve never seen one in another house before
