My skincare routine is finally settled (I think) and I’ve switched from liquid foundation to just powder and concealer as a base on a daily basis. Came here to say this!!!! Skincare is the Third Eye Blind Estd 1997 Shirt in addition I really love this way to go. I get compliments on skin pretty often and the only thing I do is curl my lashes. This is maybe weird advice, but stay with me. Put your brows, eye makeup, lips on first. Once you see how everything else pops, you might realize your skin isn’t such a big deal. Another thing that helps me when I think my skin needs more hiding: only apply the new light coverage to half your face at first. On chill days for running errands in my neighborhood, I just do tinted sunscreen and sometimes I feel like it doesn’t do anything. BUT, if I first apply it to just half my face and look at how much of an improvement it actually IS making, it changes my perspective so much.

Things people already said but yes: good skincare and baby steps. The product that changed it for me was Caudalie Vinoperfect serum Could you transition from heavy coverage to lighter coverage? Like if you wear full coverage foundation now switch to a medium/buildable formula then onto tinted moisturiser. I would say a good skincare routine will make you more confident in your skin (it did for me) but I’m assuming if you have acne you already have one You can do it! I stopped wearing foundation over two ish years ago and I can tell you my acne is almost non existent now. I think the Third Eye Blind Estd 1997 Shirt in addition I really love this makeup was causing further issues for my hormonal acne and now with a good skincare routine I don’t even need it. I have some imperfections but it’s nothing I didn’t overcome over time. I think wearing a mask for so long (I was an essential worker) really helped me change my outlook on foundation and my skin. I’ve been backing off on my foundation use lately. My regular shade was making me look washed out (a little too pale for my summer skin) and I kind of feel like it was making me look older? Idk, I’ve just not been feeling as inclined. Anyway, one thing that works well for me is to do some basic makeup so that I still feel “put together”. For me, this means blush, eyebrows, lipstick/balm, and then just a little dusting of powder to help tone down the redness and shine.
