My first real IT job was at a law firm in the The Legend Dale Earnhardt Tribute American Stock Car Driver Nascar T-Shirt Also,I will get this mid 90s. Was making @ $30k/yr at the time and heard lawyers were starting in the $75-100k range right out of school. But then I saw they were working 80+ hours/week in order to make their billable hours. I saw some who stayed over and slept in their offices in order to get the time in. I was much happier working my 38.5 hours per week and going home for dinner every night. In my area, you could live like a king for $200k/year. Depending on your tolerance for misery, I would personally take the higher paying job for a few years and grind it out. Money like this (again, in my city…can’t speak for anywhere else) would be a blessing and put you miles ahead of your peers.

I’ve worked 55 hour weeks, and honestly it was ass. It might be worth doing for a year or two to really boost your savings. But it’s not sustainable. 96k in a MCOL area is decent living and above average. I’ve occasionally had overtime on odd projects that push me into those kind of hours. For me it was short term. But as someone who actively takes care of my health and fitness it was obvious that long term that would be terrible for me. Living on energy drinks and junk food and never having time to exercise. And forget about hobbies and fun. There’s scarcely little time to just take care of the The Legend Dale Earnhardt Tribute American Stock Car Driver Nascar T-Shirt Also,I will get this basics at that point. Thanks for your comment! It is def nothing to sneeze at. Thankfully, with my wife, we make about 180k together. It sounds like we are similar in the sense that we are both health and fitness junkies. I have a lot of hobbies that keep me in shape and it would probably take a toll on my mental health if I could not regularly get to enjoy those passions of mine. Feel free to share your thoughts! Thanks again! Depends on your goals. If you make 200k for a few years and spend the same as the guy making 90k, you can shave a number of years off of your retirement date.
