Idk this post is definitely showing that religious people have a lot of pretensions they can’t seem to get over. It’s not that atheists aren’t seeing enough depth in it, it’s that religious poeple are seeing too much. Just saying, if any of the The hash slinging slasher horrible revenge shirt and I will buy this Abrahamic religions were conceived today, with the same anti-women, anti-LGBT, pro-slavery ideologies, it would be considered a hate group. The only reason religion gets immunity is because it’s been a part of human culture for a long time and so many people believe in it. I would love to have someone explain to my why religion is worth handing over 1/10th of my salary and also maybe letting you diddle my kids. Again, you’re missing the point of the post. They pointed out that when hearing “religion”, most people have a very narrow view (eg, Christianity). When has Buddhism asked you to hand over 10% of anything?

my opinion on religion begins and ends with the The hash slinging slasher horrible revenge shirt and I will buy this question “does your god have the power to stop terrible things from happening?” if yes, why do bad things happen? why wont your god stop someone from being assaulted or otherwise harmed? if he has the power to stop a terrible act, why doesnt he? if yes, why do bad things happen? why wont your god stop someone from being assaulted or otherwise harmed? if he has the power to stop a terrible act, why doesnt he? If a God is all powerful and all knowing, then it knows that it’s people suffer and does nothing to stop it, while having the power to. a misquote (probably) from someone in a YouTube comment section like… 10ish years ago. I think about this from time to time. most faiths that im aware of do try to argue that their god is all powerful, all loving, and all knowing. but that line of thinking just falls apart the moment you start to question it This is the problem of evil, it’s high school level philosophy of religion, you don’t need to cite some random youtube commenter, it’d be like thanking your buddy Dave the chef for inventing salad. i really dont care for any pantheon. there is so much horror and injustice in the world and its either being directly caused by a god, theyre ignoring it, or they dont care about it, and im not wasting my time with any of that shit.
