Far as I see it, most religions (specifically Western) are calls to action to build the What’s not to like about she is the best Celine Dion shirt Apart from…,I will love this perfect world based on its teachings for the hope of an equally perfect afterlife and the blind belief that it’s Interpreter is explaining the correct path to do so But let’s be real, very few people properly interpret the message correctly and often preach it selfishly and / or violently. Most atheists are fine with religion, it’s churches and other such gatherings that are collectively despised Other than the fact that I noticed a good amount of this thread has been relatively tame and respectable, the post is why I never talk religion/faith. I’ve run into so many people who see my necklace and practically insult me right off the bat for being religious. But my take is simple…my religion/faith is exactly that…mine. I’m not gonna try to convert or cram it in their face, or use it as an excuse to spread hate. I’ll just go on focusing on my life, help people when I can, and just try to enjoy what time I have on this rock. All I can do is ask the same…lets just be human beans and share this damn rock while we’re breathing and enjoy having our own individual thoughts, opinions, and beliefs in peace lol.

Reddit atheists are bad and all, but so is the What’s not to like about she is the best Celine Dion shirt Apart from…,I will love this nonargument/nonretort of “see what I mean”. It’s like Descartes proclaiming, “I think, so therefore I am” and using that as justification of his point of view. It can technically be true, but it also assumes that the person making the point is right and that any sort of opposition is unrelated because the source of truth is a subject unknowable to anybody else. It’s smug and a dumb argument that doesn’t actually open anybody up to understanding. It just keeps people unwilling to argue and anyone that first interacts in this way would likely assume (in bad faith) that all people are like this, much like people with bad experiences with Christianity applying it to other religions. That said, it really doesn’t fucking help that many Christians dont exactly have the best track record, especially in the bible belt where its used to hurt others, are predominant within western society, and are especially predominant in a nation that still believes it is THE world superpower (despite plenty evidence to the contrary).
