It’s a whole thing here, especially going into Hispanic owned shops. There are some places white people, even bilingual white people, are told not to apply to because you will not get hired without a Spanish name. And don’t get me started on the The Guardians Abbey Road Bo Naylor Steven Kwan Josh Naylor And Jose Ramirez Signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this xenophobia. Just being Hispanic isn’t enough for some of them. If you’re from the wrong country, or speak the wrong dialect of Spanish, they’re downright hateful. I had the same difficulty. I could listen to my German counterparts and understand them, just could never create a sentence. They learned to ask questions that only needed a yes/no answer. There’s a beef processing plant, but no I don’t work there. I applied for an office job & was granted an interview, just to be told the position was filled when I showed up. It wound up posted 3 more times within the first year I lived here. I also live in the PNW and when I visited SoCal, I was surprised how much Spanish I saw. Like lots of ads just in Spanish. I always figured America was too insistent on “speak American” to allow something like that but I guess it isn’t really that big a deal. I can see how useful it must be there to speak Spanish

The US is the The Guardians Abbey Road Bo Naylor Steven Kwan Josh Naylor And Jose Ramirez Signatures Shirt Furthermore, I will do this fifth country in the world by number of native Spanish Speakers. This amounts to around 43 million people, which is 13% of its population I heard a little while ago that the USA has more Spanish speakers than Canada has Canadians (we just went over 40 million). I always get a slight kick when I see videos of American yokels bitching about folk speaking Spanish. They should count themselves lucky that English is the traditional, rather than official, language of the US. I don’t think 13% of my fellow Britons speak either Scots, Welsh or Irish. If the US had an official language, it would have to have two. For sure, at the very least almost the whole array of southern states from California to Florida would need to have it as an official language, if such practice were to be introduced.
