But you must remember that there’s a “self” you’re holding to those standards and that the The Freedom Trail Fallout 4 T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this “self” is flawed, yet still worthy, and thus needs room to negotiate. I could’ve dealt with it day 1. But I love myself enough to be patient with myself and the negotiation was “I need time to sit with this before I can accept that the only way out is forward”.You just count your blessings and move on with it, and try again the next time. Successful people are often well adjusted and full of confidence, gratitude, and contentment.also, look into the difference between detachment and non-attachment, very important distinctionYes very important. Detachment is certainly not what we want to cultivate. Equanimity and non attachment as you put it is the thing.Practice the act of regularly, deliberately immersing yourself in the moment. Try to become aware of the richness of each of your senses, simultaneously. Even for a few seconds. You’ll realise you can enter this state, of simply, hearing/feeling/seeing/breathing – at will. No matter what. You can do this anytime, several times a day. Practised regularly, you can eventually maintain this state for increasingly longer periods of time. You’ll get so adept at it, that you can instantly shut off your mind’s chatter and engage with the eternal present moment, even in moments of intense distress. Just let whatever is present filll your senses to the point where there is no room left for thought .From my experience, I find that I can only do that if I’m focusing on one task at a time, or if I’m focusing on one thing specifically. Do you have any tips on how to do this or books that helped you with this?I cant think of any specific book suggestions really, The Power of Now talks quite a bit about this kind of thing but I can’t remember if it gives much practical detail. The only advice I can give is to perhaps move away from the idea of “focus” The technique I’m describing is more a state of gentle awareness of your surroundings rather than laser sharp one-pointed focus. More akin to curiosity. Imagine you’d just woken up after sleeping for a thousand years and you’re calmly taking everything in without analysing and labelling everything. That’s very tough for me as my thoughts tend to race if I don’t have a laser sharp one-pointed focus xD. I’ll try it anyways and seeYou’ve actually stumbled onto something important here. It is not possible to place attention on multiple things at once. What we think of as multi tasking is actually attention flickering back and forth very quickly. You can see this flickering of attention yourself if you observe it mindfully (which also happens to give insight into anatta) Attention can carefully be rested on two things at once in meditation but never more than that in my experience. Usually on one thing at a time.I find this interesting because I sort of discovered this on my own. Was driving a lot these past couple of weeks and noticed that I would get often shuffle through my songs because I had gotten used to how they sounded and desired something new. This would lead to me skipping over songs I genuinely did enjoy listening to. I tried shifting my awareness away from only the music and of course the road+other drivers to all of the senses (again, still focusing on driving too, not trying to get into an accident) , especially the weird “buzzing” your limbs make if you focus on them. I found the desire to skip songs was still there, but it was hardly a demanding desire and over the course of the drive it would disappear. Any thoughts that would pop up became much more manageable too and made the drive overall a lot more peacefulWhat are your tips for detaching from others so that you can love more for the sake of loving itself, rather than for the purpose of building attachments?

The sublime attitudes. Practice cultivating compassion and metta towards all beings especially yourself and people in your life. Note. This is not detaching from others. Far from it. It is connecting to them in a wholesome way that will lessen your suffering and theirs.I can point you to something in between loving others for the The Freedom Trail Fallout 4 T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this sake of them and loving others for the sake of loving. The manner of being that could be described as loving for the sake of loving itself is, perhaps, one step beyond loving others for the sake of who they are and for the sake of their benefit. If you still love with “strings attached” then the easiest and simplest thing next is to love someone for their own strings attached to you. After that you can complete the process by seeing how there are no strings attached because there is a deep appreciation in loving someone for their own sake (not for yours). It is quite fulfilling.Meditate on the person you see is subjective and not the real person. Everything you believe about that person is coming from within your own mind. All living beings have the same golden nugget within which is the potential for enlightenment. For me the best way to cultivate non attachment has always been the ”witnessing consciousness.” Taking a step back and seeing myself, my situation, and others as though on a movie screen rather than identifying with all of it.
