Conservatives aim for protecting the structures that have proven themselves to be most beneficial to cohesive societies over centuries. Modern liberals aim to deconstruct said structures because in their opinion they are clearly not working equally for everybody. So bring down existing structures of normalcy so new normals that allow individual subjectivity can replace them. However most people who want to go to a baseball game don’t want to see drag queens making fun of Catholics. So any rational person would just keep these as separate activities however a small group has insisted on combining them and calling anyone who disagrees homophobic.
