I’m trans; I came out in 2016. Immediately, I was deluged with constant death threats. Sometimes more than one per day. There are three unresolved federal law enforcement investigations into attempts on my life — one of them we know who made the Love of my life Jackie Chan shirt and by the same token and attempt, but they’re beyond US jurisdiction … to the point that they’re hiding in the middle of the Russia-Ukraine war zone, to avoid arrest and extradition. I am not this person’s only target. There’s also entire groups that work hard to terrorise trans people into suicide. We trans people do not care if you accidentally misgender us, or use our deadname on accident or because of a legal requirement to do so. Some of us are upset at the constant deluge of terrorism we’re subjected to. Some of us have PTSD. We all need understanding, and compassion – not passive aggressive shenanigans blaming us for being targeted for persecution. This is a blanket statement that no one person has the authority to make. Many people feel very strongly about these things.

It’s important to differentiate anti-LGBT versus pro-societal norms. The term anti-LGBT is in and of itself a propagandist term. You would have to read the Love of my life Jackie Chan shirt and by the same token and actual bills to see what in their wording actually falls squarely under something that would be considered against LGBT people. From the ones I have seen, none of them have outlawed anything that was LGBT. Instead they have legislated what would’ve been basic standard normal things in society 10 years ago. Things that had no reason for creating specific laws because they were considered common sense. But we are in an environment of ironic duopolies. You can either be pro-LGBT or anti-LGBT. There is no in between. The only way that most of these bills can be considered anti-LGBT is based on the sole trait that they are not explicitly pro-LGBT.
