I shut my mum up real quick when she thought it was ridiculous thst babies could choose their gender and I was like ‘yes, I knew from a super young age I didn’t identify with the Support Local Street Cats Vintage Box Raccoon Opossum Skunk T-Shirt besides I will buy this body I grew up in’ she had nothing to say because she hasn’t experienced what it’s like to not feel or be like that. Hundreds of kids a year in the US. Possibly thousands. Reuters has data from 2021 insurance claims that showed in 2021 about 300 kids diagnosed with gender dysphoria had a mastectomy or castration. And since most insurance won’t pay for the surgery the number of surgeries is way more than 300. With geneder dysphoria diagnosis skyrocketing it’s likely the number of surgeries on children is over a thousand per year in the US. No, not in the slightest. The most kids are getting are puberty blockers and hormones, both of which are 100% reversible.

I scrolled down a bit and honestly have not seen anyone give a real answer. I hope you see this: First there is a great documentary (Growing Up Trans) which does a wonderful job explaining how a young child’s health (both physical and mental) are treated medically at the Support Local Street Cats Vintage Box Raccoon Opossum Skunk T-Shirt besides I will buy this Mayo Clinic. To answer why they are not waiting until the kids are adults to prescribe meds is that once puberty begins, it is much harder to transition as the morphological changes to the body are permanent. To prevent these changes they give hormones to suppress puberty. This “buys time” for the child to grow up emotionally – work with counselors, and doctors to then access and evaluate when/if to start gender specific hormones. But that is all. I did not see one child have surgery on the show, nor any planning for it or in conversation with doctors that I recall. They probably do wait for adulthood for that one.
