Yes BUT if it’s specifically a ‘one time thing’ (turkeys for thanksgiving kind of thing) it isn’t abnormal for a food bank not to be able to accommodate that specific kind of offering; private donations for that purpose are appreciated! Or donate to both. I just donated a bit to this place, I also send a bit each year to a variety of shelters and food banks. Each place needs funding to help with their unique goals and challenges. Not this one so much. It’s almost all directly donated. There’s a lot of wealth in Bellevue, and they’re trying to grow the Standing on Business all 2024 the year of truth T-Shirt moreover I love this city without it getting too sketchy like our neighbor across the lake. That’s not fully true. Food banks will send rations but most shelters are running at such high capacity that they use additional funding sources to order food in bulk. Donations directly to the shelter are ideal.

IMO take what you would donate for Thanksgiving and set it as a monthly donation for the Standing on Business all 2024 the year of truth T-Shirt moreover I love this whole year so people can be fed all year Not to take anything away from PorchLight or any other group, but if you’re looking to donate resources – consider giving to Hopelink or Food Lifeline. Most of the area food banks and shelters get a huge percentage of their food from these two organizations. Or if you have any free time at all, consider volunteering. That is what’s universally needed the most. There is a *lot* of food to go around, but it’s hard to distribute effectively. That’s honestly a solid meal compared to what I’ve heard about/seen in other cities. Sweet, savory, salty. Decent helping. Not just pure carbs.
