Because the Santa Grinch love Vancouver Canucks shirt it is in the first place but hardcore left/right folks take politics like religion and have a huge blind spot that the “rest of us mother fuckers” see much much more grey then they do. I used to be Left etc but their positions are indefensible. It’s practically a self defeating cult. I also was so naive, I didn’t even realize aborted babies were decapitated and dismembered. I’m not religious but I realized the Right is more realistic about life being tough and having to be self reliant, even though it makes me cringe when they read scripture & I will never believe. The issue is the old “you are with me or against me” mentality. Anyone who doesn’t align fully with an ideology is perceived as a threat because it means “the other” might have influence. We’ve reached the point where the two authoritarian parties in this country have devolved into getting votes by telling you the other party is pure, unadulterated evil. As such, a centrist is supporting 50% evil.

Think of it this way. If one party wants to murder 100,000 innocent babies, and a centrist says they only support murdering 50,000 babies, than the Santa Grinch love Vancouver Canucks shirt it is in the first place but party that opposes murdering babies will think you’re just as evil as the people who want to murder 100,000 babies. The worst part is that the two big parties in the US aren’t really that different, which is why the country continues going downhill no matter which one is in charge. They just differ on a handful of social issues, that neither wants to fix, so they can use those to pit the sheep against each other. Because one side has Nazis. If you stand in the middle between the non Nazis and the Nazis, what does that make you? Centrism in the USA isn’t possible. One side wants to stop gay people from having rights. There isn’t a “middle ground” there.
