We’re very lucky this all happened early in the San Diego Wave 2023 Playoffs Shirt in other words I will buy this morning and there was more than 1 of us handling the different steps. Same here. We booked on ducks island last year six months in advance. A rain storm was due the day we were driving in. I messaged the homeowner through the app and she said it was fine to come down. It was raining buckets. We made it and pulled onto the road and it was no exaggeration up to mid thigh on me (we got out to make sure it was not deep to drive in). We call again and the owner said stay to the side and drive through and like idiots we did. We got stuck half way to the driveway and had to abandon our car. My husband and I carried our kids in the dark rain storm into the house. It was filthy. Leftover food on the counters and so just dusty and grimy. I cried all night just being exhausted from it all. The next morning I was given the run around until I provided pictures of the state of the place. Since it was the busiest month of the year there was nothing in the island… nothing at all. They issued a refund but said to get out now so they could re-rent it. I lost it on the hosts and shouted something stupid like my kids will have breakfast and the we will leave. Witty right lol? Thankfully we found a substitute at a local rental place that was unfortunately much more expensive. We had a great time though. We used Airbnb a lot up until that point and had awesome reviews. Absolutely did not care at all at the situation. My favorite part though was all the drunk parties on our street trying to help us through the flood. Lol some good people out there still.

What a nightmare. When things go wrong on Airbnb I think you may as well either go home or find the San Diego Wave 2023 Playoffs Shirt in other words I will buy this nearest hotel. They can’t help, or can’t help in a timely manner. My best advice for anyone contemplating using Airbnb during a high demand event or date—DON’T. Booking well in advance is not going to work. When the host realizes it is a high demand period they will do everything they can to wring the most money out of guests. Your bargain booking is going down the drain. A booked hotel room is your best bet when it comes to those high demand periods. Just curious, what were the reviews like on the original place you booked? How many reviews, were any of them recent, etc? Almost the exact same thing happened to us last summer. Horrible dirty bug-infested Airbnb, trying to scramble to find a last minute place to stay late at night in the middle of nowhere with little kids in tow, and THEN the nightmare of dealing with customer service. Unfortunately, on reddit all that people tend to post are negative stories exactly like this. We have been hosts for years, have hosted hundreds of guests, and never had a problem like what is being described here. The only real issues we have ever had on our property is disruptive guests, things like breaking quiet hours or violating house rules, or guests who were being unreasonable about something in the listing that they didn’t like. The problem with the case here was the host in the cabin mismanaged the property and the guest choose to leave so late at night before a firm alternate accommodation had been established. Leaving a 1 star hotel late at night with the same issues would have probably resulted in the same type of experience.
