Dry food out at all times, canned food given every morning and then sometimes once or twice during the Sam LaPorta American football tight end for the Detroit Lions NFL T-Shirt and by the same token and day if they are begging for it Please don’t free feed your cats dry food. It will make them sick! It makes me upset that people still think this is ok. If it’s too much effort for you to feed your cats two meals of wet food, then don’t have a cat. As someone who feeds my baby a scheduled 4x/day 80wet/20dry diet, I gotta say that every situation is different. Just like humans, one size doesn’t fit all. So many factors are involved: nutritional needs, scheduling/work factors, finances, local food availability, medical considerations, living situation, cat temperament, etc. It’s a bit of a tone deaf blanket statement to say people shouldn’t have cats if they don’t feed them the way you think they should. Always just left food out for my cats. Always premium food. When they learn it’s unlimited they ratio themselves. They do spend a lot of time outside working it off. I leave food out for my Bre. But only give her certain portion sizings and she will let me know when she is ready for her next one. She has always been very smart and eats only when she is hungry and not overeating. But some cats need more strict of a routine due to over eating! Depends on your kitty! I leave dry food out all of the time. I have a filtered water fountain too. I feed them canned food twice a day.

Also, Doug is majestic af. Mine nibbles so free feed. I’ve had cats I had to feed 2 meals to. They would eat until they got sick because they were food insecure in the past. Mine has dry food available at all times and gets wet food several times a day in small amounts, because he’ll eat it until he throws up if I don’t. I free feed. I leave dry food out all the time and don’t nice a day I split a can of wet food between my 3 cats. My cats are big but not obese. I leave food out because I am scared I will be gone longer than I meant to or something and I can’t stand the thought of my babies starving and stressing about when they will get food. We free feed both of ours. They manage their intake well and our vet says their weight is fine, so we don’t really see the need to schedule their feeding. We leave out a good indoor dry food blend, and do a wet food feeding each day at sunset (kitties are crepuscular so I assumed sunset was a good time to feed them. I leave the food out for both of mine. I will feed them twice a day with the recommended amount. If they don’t eat it, it will be there later for them.
