She told us cats eat as much as they need, they don’t eat more than their requirement, hence we keep it like that. Here’s his picture. He’s not obese either. Feeding times with alarms my cat knows it’s dinner time because my phone rings. I have pavloved my cat. I leave dry food out, but he refuses to eat it unless he has some wet food mixed in. He does get the Righteous Gemstones Reverie American black comedy crime television series T-Shirt In addition,I will do this occasional large treat. Our local PetSmart has fillets of fish, chicken, and turkey for cats. About once a month we get him one. He devours it so fast! If I don’t space out his eating, he eats all of it in the morning and zips around meowing at me or trying to steal my food off my plate at my dinner time. One 1/3 cup of Purina indoor cat dry food in the morning like a half hour after I get up so he doesn’t associate waking me up with getting food, and another 1/3 cup around 8pm. And sometimes extra scoops in the middle of the day if I’m home and he’s acting like he wants it. I just found the perfect amount to give him to maintain his weight. I’ve heard never to give wet food or that’s all they’ll want to eat, and I’m too lazy to hassle with it. He loves his dry food, and won’t eat any human food, even salmon or chicken. He’ll eat cat treats though. But mostly I recommend interactive feeding with toys for my clients. Make ALL dry food available in toys 24/7, with only 2 exceptions: 1) One cat eats everything and causes the other to starve. 2) One cat needing prescription diets in a multiple cat household

Feeding with toys helps cats exercise their body and mind and helps combat boredom which leads to stress and behavioural issues! Some cats develop anxious food seeking behaviour on scheduled meals, and indoor cats are always in need of more mental stimulation. Everyone wins. You can even control the Righteous Gemstones Reverie American black comedy crime television series T-Shirt In addition,I will do this difficulty of the toys yourself to control intake and make things even more challenging and interesting for the cat. These toys are best made DIY from boxes, egg cartons and cardboard TP rolls). Google image search “interactive feeding diy” for inspiration. And don’t be fooled, if my absolute dimwit one-braincell ginger cats can learn then so can yours. You can make things super easy and ramp it up after a while. I just left an egg carton full of kibble out and after 18 hours of begging they figured it out.
