I enjoyed the Russian doll season 2 shirt and I love this movie but the mystery/detective aspect fell flat. A lot of the movie is about finding the rat to find The Riddler, and the rat is just magically revealed to be Falcone from a recording. It seems like Batman didn’t figure out the big picture at all. He solved the little riddles, but he never solved the mystery. Maybe I missed something, would love for someone to prove me wrong. I really wanted to love The Batman but the movie has many glaring flaws. The positives are really strong: Pattison’s performance, the cowl (which I thought sucked when first revealed) is the best and least goofy looking so far and really lets him act through it, Gotham was amazing, the batmobile is chef’s kiss… But the story just doesn’t work for me. The whole plot is tedious to follow because almost every interaction is expository, every single big reveal/plot twist falls flat. I felt NOTHING during the entire movie, and I’m usually one to routinely tear up at the slightest hint of emotion in a scene, but here… nada.

Russian doll season 2 shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I really wanted to like the Russian doll season 2 shirt and I love this riddler, but somehow he didn’t have a menacing presence in the plot. Carmine Falcone was surprisingly bland considering Turturro’ s talent. Catwoman felt the least Famme Fatale of all the Catwomen so far, I just didn’t buy her act at all. When she and batman kissed I was like “whatever”. Batman getting shot like robocop all the time, the wingsuit materializing out of thin air (not to mention the absurd crash landing, so much for “grounded”) That ridiculous final fight with the snipers… Batman hanging from the edge and moving super slow with the sniper somehow conveniently missing him by a few inches. It could go on all day really, it’s all so stupid. Matt Reeves gets a lot of stuff right tonally, but it’s obvious that he’s just another to-cool-for-school director who has to give his realistic spin on things because “some things just don’t work on the big screen”. Well neither does your stupid interpretation, and fuck off with your almost 3 hour runtime if you can’t even get my juices flowing properly in that time. Just left the theatre, some quick thoughts!

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
