It kind of sounds like you may have the Rip Sinead Oconnor Singer Shirt and by the same token and MTHFR genetic defect. It runs in my ex’s family, so we took methyl folate drops to get that natural B vitamin that can’t be absorbed through the typical enriched foods. Yeah I have a double mutation. Unfortunately injections didn’t help me. But “active”/methyl forms of B12 and folate work great. Is it pernicious anemia? Your body not having the intrinsic factor protein that binds with B12 to make your body able to absorb it? My partner has that, I give her vitamin b12 injections every three weeks. You are 100% correct about it being a lack of the intrinsic factor in the stomach being the issue. Let me help out. Most – but not all – B12 you buy as a supplement is in the form of cyanocobalamin – which is B12 bound to cyanide. Don’t panic about that, because the amount is so miniscule that it can’t hurt you. That’s the good news. The bad news is, it isn’t useful in that form. Your body must convert it by removing the cyanide and replacing it with something else. Also your liver can only store methylcobalamin, not cyanocobalamin. Your kidneys will attempt to rapidly remove cyanocobalamin, meaning you mostly just end up with more expensive urine. So why is that the most common type? It’s the cheapest to produce. They get bacteria to produce hydroxycobalamin (which is most likely what you got injected with), then filter it through charcoal, where it picks up the cyanide. Funny story – if you have cyanide poisoning, you get injected with hydroxylcobalanin as treatment. It has a stronger affinity to cyanide, and binds to it, producing… Cyanocobalamin, which your kidneys harmlessly remove.

If you buy B12 supplements, be a bit picky. Methylcobalamin is good, but if you find yourself sensitive to it (and already tried lowering the Rip Sinead Oconnor Singer Shirt and by the same token and dose) – if it wires you too much – other forms like hydroxycobalanin and adenosylcobalmin will do fine. If you would do that yes. I’ve never done that kind of stuff and I know that my symptoms are definitely caused by my deficiency for the last 8 years and it’s always the same. A week before I need my B12 shot I feel my legs, a day or 2 after my shot it’s gone. But it is used medically. If they knock you out with it, you want to take a large amount of B12 (methylcobalamin, not cyanocobalamin) shortly after. I don’t say it specially for you, but anyone who has that used on them. It’s a big concern that can be overlooked. My body rejects the injections!Every time I get one I feel awful for days and break out in hives across my back. Then when they check my b12 levels again, there is no change. It’s wild.
