My kids are grazers. Sure, that means I sweep more and they’re not trained like monkeys to sit quietly in a restaurant or at a dinner party but oops guess we’ll skip that dinner and send a card instead ok, thought you were gonna be like “if a kid isnt hungry they shouldn’t be forced to eat” and thats more about most kinds not knowing that they need to eat before they’re incredibly hungry as well as keeping a regular eating schedule. the Psychopedia a true crime podcast skull shirt and by the same token and only logic i can try to come up with is the parent seeing the leftover food as wasted money. which depends on how tight a budget they have could be more severe. it still doesn’t excuse yelling and screaming at a child (nearly nothing does). the only time i remember being punishment for not eating all my food was when my family went to a buffet place and i filled my plate up despite my mother telling me not to, and me saying i was hungry and could eat it. i think we stayed an extra 30-40 minutes while i slowly ate everything on my plate. i didn’t get yelled at, just tild we weren’t leaving until i finished my plate. felt miserable for a few hours and never did it again.

Teehee I went through this and it comes up in therapy a lot. I get panic attacks when eating out at restaurants because of it We let our kids have a SMALL list of things they would not eat. When we cooked those we did not serve them if it was on their list. So let’s say one put Brussels sprout on their list. we would serve them to the Psychopedia a true crime podcast skull shirt and by the same token and others but not the one who had it on their list. We also had a rule that if you did not eat dinner at dinner time that did NOT mean you got a new special meal later. If they refused to eat at dinner time and then complained they were hungry later, we simply warmed up dinner and served it again. This time they got to sit at the table alone and finish it. I think what a lot of people struggle to grasp is imagine we let the three kids dictate what they will and wont eat. How many meals a day do we need to make now?
