Blunt knives are my biggest bug bear in an Airbnb. That and no sieve or lids for pans. Twice this year I’ve stayed in a place with ground coffee supplied but no french press or any other way to brew it. Still gave them 5 stars because I’m too British to mention it. I started with my nice sharp knives, but now three guests into the Play Louder Muppets Cartoons T-Shirt it is in the first place but season I am missing 4 from the set and the remainder are all dull. There are cutting boards, but somehow cutting directly on the granite or using the knives directly on the plates is preferable. IKEA knives and cheap supermarket paring knives are the replacements! I hate dull knives but some people just don’t sharpen their knives. Insert my parents who just live with full as knives The bummer is the guests slowly damage things like the kitchen table we love and stain up the linens etc. but we expected that.

I’ve only stayed in an airbnb 3 times- the Play Louder Muppets Cartoons T-Shirt it is in the first place but first it was someone’s actual home flat, and it was perfect. I was able to have friends over, lovely helpful neighbours, super comfy. the second was someone’s home appartment in amsterdam. far out of the city, but super comfy and homely. again, really nice. the third was a annex again in ams, but clearly an investment for the owners. really awful. the beds advertised as doubles were actually two single bed frames shoved close together- wirh 2 seperate matresses and duvets. romantic. the hosts were rude, we were charged ridiculous extra fees, insane cleaning requests, mad early check out time. F all kitchen equipment so it was really pricy for us to buy basics and basically stock a pantry and equipment for a 4 day stay.
