I went to HVHS, which had massive highs within the Melanin definition brown sugar warm honey chocolate and gold T-Shirt in addition I really love this student body (i.e. Nobel Prize winners) as well as massive lows (including cases of a group of six teens ganging up on Year 9 students during lunchtimes, dragging the students to the ground, removing their pants and violating them with screwdrivers, pens, scissors, branches, drills and pencils, as well as a student being beaten unconscious and another case of a student being burnt with a lighter). They were actually intelligent people but undiagnosed neurodivergent and their parents didn’t teach them shit about shit (neglectful in one instance, abusive in the other). I feel terrible for teachers having to try and wrangle kids from bad upbringings, while doing their best to elevate the kids who show real potential. It must feeling like pissing in the wind at the best of times, I don’t know why anyone signs up to do it. There are a lot of things I feel like we could have been given more information on in teachers’ college, but they really drilled in the ethics and code of conduct stuff at the end of the year. Teachers are expected to be paragons of virtue and are held to much stricter standards of behaviour. The headline of the article proves it by putting the focus on the teacher who lost it and swore, but not on the kids’ behaviour.

But I totally get how this guy got to this point. Sometimes kids can be entitled little monsters. I’ve cried after a particularly hairy class. It doesn’t exactly excuse what he did, but I get it. It’s because they are little cunts with zero consequences. This country treats teachers like shut, pays them shit and expects them to babysit 30+ kids while trying to educate them, it’s insane. The working hours and responsibilities are insane. These covid kids are fucked up and we do nothing and expect them to be OK? There needs to be a nationwide effort to get them on track. This is also 100% a misogynistic issue, as most teachers are women. There are so few men they get fast tracked into management. Meanwhile, women are left to do all the Melanin definition brown sugar warm honey chocolate and gold T-Shirt in addition I really love this hard work and eat shit all day.
