My spouse, who eats meat, takes it to keep her poop moving. When you strain too much, you can get these little protrusions like little grapes. There’s different kinds. Some are external and painful. Some are internal. Some internal ones pop out when going poop. Some people are more susceptible to them than others. Mine are internal and bleed when I poop, as in red drops in the toilet, but they don’t hurt at all which is nice. The treatment is surgery but that can be very painful and not always successful so I just deal with it. You can avoid these issues by drinking plenty of fluids, eating fiber, never straining when you poop or sitting in the toilet for too long. Just take it nice and easy when you go, as much as possible. You hold a wet rag over your vagina gently but firmly, poop very slowly and then rinse with a perio bottle and pat dry. I took showers personally after every BM. I’ve had 3rd degree stitches in my vagina twice. Well, my first birth was a shit show, I went in to the hospital with my midwife because I was just exhausted after like almost 3 days of labor, I was literally begging my doctor not to do an episiotomy as I was frantically trying to push my son out (my midwife said I was stretching fine), it’s ridiculous because they wouldn’t let me push squatting which I wanted to do (wider pelvic opening, gravity), and they numbed me right as I started pushing- anyways he gave me the episiotomy even despite my protests and as he cut my vagina just tore- I almost needed reconstructive surgery (4th degree is where you have one hole basically), but luckily I survived without needing that, but still had a third degree tear. Anyways, my second birth was a homebirth, quite lovely actually but my little guy came out with both hands up and the scar tissue just ripped again (thank you episiotomy), and my last child I got a second degree tear.

Yeah, I wish, the Love of my life Merle Haggard thank you for the memories shirt Also,I will get this whole thing was messed up, they told me I couldn’t have more than one person in the room with me (my midwife checked and they said the limit is three people), and they had a security guard outside my door. We came in with about 5 people including my partner friends and midwife and they treated us like trash, because I had a midwife with me and it was a transfer. I picked my midwife because I was so close to her and was so scared and in pain and so my husband didn’t get to see his son be born 🙁 They also wouldn’t let us film and said recording wasn’t allowed. This was about 10 years ago now so I’m not going to push it, but jeez, what a bad experience. I had my next two babies at home and had great and loving experiences, my husband got a little mini choke out as my kids were being pushed out so he did get to see some of the action. Difference between hospital and home birth was profound- – one I felt raped and one I felt loved, honored and empowered.
