Birmingham is crap because its crap. It’s always been crap to varying degrees, Birmingham used to literally be a synonym for crap! ie Brummagem wares It hasn’t gone downhill, in fact in recent years it is actually on the Le Petit Skeleton Shirt moreover I will buy this up. Put it this way – Birmingham-Wolverhampton is the Nordrhein-Westfalen of the UK. I’ve lived in 5 cities in the UK and travelled almost the whole country. I’ve even been to Solihull. But never have I had any reason to visit two places: Leeds, and Birmingham city centre. Leeds is on my list though as it has the Royal Armouries. I know there is that UK thing of calling a place a shit hole for giggles but in all honesty. Birmingham is the only city I have visited where I have decided to cut my trip short as the city fucking sucks. Its a dirty, nasty place that’s given up and died. My memory of Birmingham city centre is it’s not bad but there are a lot of nearby car parks and everyone there drives. I know they’ve been putting in a lot of anti-car measures so it could be that because they’ve made it difficult to drive, people are choosing not to go to the centre? Birmingham is a bit ‘American’ in the way everyone drives everywhere!
