That would be u/spontaneousH and it’s a incredible ride. They’ve given a couple updates since, well worth the Lazy Pancreas Squad Diabetes Awareness Cat T-Shirt in other words I will buy this read. I just went down this dudes rabbit hole of an account. What a wild ride! Can’t believe that was a decade and a half ago In 3 years my ex husband went from semi-stand up citizen, father, husband, man who could hold down a job, to dead. It sounds crass but that’s what happened. He was sober, addicted, sober for 6 months, dead. I hate heroin and I hate people who sell it. I hate what it does to people. I hate that you can’t help anyone who struggles with addiction to it because it’s not a problem unless they decide it is. It’s infuriating to think about how if he hadn’t tried it he’d still be around for our girl. Booze because it’s cheap and legal and many people don’t really believe that addiction is a genuine sickness, think that it’s a lack of willpower or your own fault.

We don’t even understand the Lazy Pancreas Squad Diabetes Awareness Cat T-Shirt in other words I will buy this fabric of the universe or if consciousness originates within us or is some sort of pervading force through the universe Not necessarily. Nobody knows precisely what causes a person to be prone to addiction. There may be a genetic basis, maybe overdoing alters brain chemistry, habituation is a strong factor. We have a pretty good idea of potential causes tho. Childhood sexual assault, child of addicts, certain genes are linked to it, certain mental disorders increase your risk of addiction due to its severity or symptoms of impulsivity, etc. That being said I refuse any and all scheduled prescriptiom drugs for these reasons. Hell my last restaurant manager offered me benzos during dinner rush.. I said fuck no. Never went back after that night. Knowing risk factors is helpful when you have them, because you’re going to be a lot more cautious if prescribed them (like after surgery), and generally less likely to become addicted if you’re informed of your risk factors, especially if one of those risk factors is a parent who’s an addict.
