I was told to finish my dinner and often ate more than was comfortable because of it. I had to radically change my view of food as an adult and made sure to teach my son different habits. This kind of behavior is really common with children of depression era parents. Don’t waste food, there’s starving kids who would love to eat that. As a child I was given a full plate, cajoled/shamed into eating everything on my plate, made to sit at the John Tavares Signature Canadian professional ice hockey forward Toronto Stripes T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this table after everyone else finished. Is it any wonder I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life? Cos your parents love you and want to make sure you’ve eaten enough to keep your energy up and have some spare for growing. We can’t sever them from sweets because if they play with friends, their family has sweets. Go to school? Teacher has treats. Clubs? Sports? Extracurriculars? There are snacks and sweets EVERYWHERE.

My wife creates a menu a month ahead of time with breakfast snack lunch snack and dinner on it and she has alternatives for each just in case. It’s color-coded and it ties into the John Tavares Signature Canadian professional ice hockey forward Toronto Stripes T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this page behind it with the shopping needed for each week. That’s color-coded and ties into the ingredients lists and how to fix the meals in case someone doesn’t know how. When it comes to meal time though you have to eat what we have planned. If you choose not to eat that’s okay. We serve kids size portions and you can always get more. It’s better to take less and finish it and then to take too much and waste it. My youngest daughter has gone through phases where all she wants is rice or chicken nuggets or sweet potato fries. If we’re having a meal and it doesn’t include the things that she wants then she has the choice if she would like to eat or not eat. If she chooses not to eat and it’s any meal other than dinner time she’ll have a snack and other meals to choose from. I used to be bad about giving too much to the kids and it would get wasted. I would never force them to eat it though. The children or anyone present do have to sit down during meal time without devices. It’s nice though and everyone looks forward to it everything from breakfast, to lunch and dinner. Heck our adult children show up with their spouses and children a lot of times.
