When I had kids the Ja’Lynn Polk Washington Huskies 2023 Shirt moreover I love this pediatrician told me our stomach gets full with a meal the size of our fist. A toddler has a tiny fist. So maybe a tablespoon of potato, a tablespoon of veg and a tablespoon of protein. Once they were in school, I would serve their food with a regular flatware tablespoon. They could say stop at any time. If there was something they had tried and didn’t like, they didn’t have to take any. If the entire meal was one they disliked, they could fix a bowl of cereal and toast or a sandwich. I always had small containers of washed & cut up fruits and veggies at their eye level in the refrigerator too. I just assumed if I had healthy meals, snacks and alternate choices, they would get the nutrition they needed.

My mom was the Ja’Lynn Polk Washington Huskies 2023 Shirt moreover I love this opposite. She put it on the table and you ate if you wanted….. or not. The thing was, there were ZERO snacks in the evening. We had no weight problems. My hubby’s family were as you described. They ALL had weight problems. I’ll never forget the day hubby and I were out to dinner and he suddenly looked at me with this look like a little kid caught doing something wrong and said ‘I’m full’. No more clean plates for the man. Amazing what parents unintentionally do to their children, isn’t it? My great grandmother was just adamant that you DO NOT WASTE FOOD. She was born in 37 so I’m sure the time she came up had big influence on that but she forced us to eat because she’d rather die then throw away food. I don’t force my kid to eat if we’re at a meal with no distractions. They’re obviously not hungry. Forcing them there is abuse imo.
