FUCKING LOVED IT! Loved how grounded it was and how awkward Battinson was in and out of the IT’s the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year Snoopy shirt Furthermore, I will do this suit. The Penguin waddle when he did when his hands and feet were tied. Hush on the Wayne’s video. Catwoman scratching Falcone’s face like in Year One. Good Times Grocery was on 50-52nd street. Good Times is possibly a reference to Robert Pattinson’s movie Good Time and 50-52nd street is one of the addresses Joker gives Batman in The Dark Knight to choose between Harvey and Rachel. Plus when you say 50-52nd you say 50-50 which is Harvey’s whole thing. Edit: Also I just remembered a cop car was numbered 237 which is commonly used in movies to reference the room in The Shining. Shout out to Barry Keoghan for playing a random cop early in the movie, so the reports of him playing a cop weren’t lies. It just so happened he also (probably) played the Joker. this was the perfect encapsulation of the Batman character in every way So uh my question is that did WB say fuck it to this script? Like the only thing that felt like a studio note was the climax being a large spectacle but even that was as toned down as it could be since it amounted to Batman punching QAnon with snipers.

I get the IT’s the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year Snoopy shirt Furthermore, I will do this dark knight isn’t geared towards kids but they liked it, however the spectacle and the joker are enjoyable enough that there is stuff for them to get amused by. This one has action but it’s spaced out and used narratively. The rest of the movie is people talking about organized crime. I went in thinking this would be like the apes movies where it’s character focused but it still has a blockbuster script. It feels like WB just let him do what he wanted and I’m just surprised they said yeah to 30 minutes of action at 2 and a half hours of a slow paced detective movie for their biggest IP. Props to WB for letting Reeves just make a movie even if it doesn’t feel at all like it was made for the typical family crowd these movies market to.
