I wouldn’t say that they were short poorly — plainly, maybe, but not poorly. The action was readable and most shots showed a clear cause and effect instead of relying on a series of quick jump cuts to build momentum. For all of his strengths, even Nolan struggles with action sequences (I’ll have to find it, but there’s a great video that breaks down the I MAy Look Calm But In My Head I’ve Slapped You 3 Time Snoopy Shirt Furthermore, I will do this truck chase scene in TDK, and how it fails on a technical level) Completely agree about the lack of damage that Batman suffers in this film. Man, John Turturro stole every scene he was in. It just seemed like endlessly repetitive scenes with the Riddler’s notes to Batman and everyone else and not nearly enough fight scenes for a three hour movie. Paul Dano was amazing though. There was enough here for a great 2 hr film but the greedy execs want to please as many people as possible Maybe I am missing something, but I didn’t really like the movie. It was ok movie at best. Was not intrigued by the mystery at all. The worst part was that for a detective movie any riddle/mystery that was presented was solved in next scene. Even the Thomas Wayne story was immediately resolved.

The noir-esque feel and horror adjacent cinematography style was epic. Such a beautiful film. The initial club scene where Batman fights off the I MAy Look Calm But In My Head I’ve Slapped You 3 Time Snoopy Shirt Furthermore, I will do this mob through the strobe lights is chefs kiss But good god did that Joker reveal piss me off. Took me out of it completely. Why the fuck do these studios insist on a new joker every other year? If you’re gonna go that route, atleast give Joaquin a blank check and try to tie him in some how. The Riddler and The Joker are already very similar villains in their own rights. Annoying as fuck. Just seen it, fucking amazing and the best Batman film of all time. Bit confused about the flood though? How did blowing up all that manage to flood the whole city? Is Gotham just on very low ground? Christ it was so good though Matt Reeves is one of the best directors working right now, consistent bangers
