How about we just ban intolerance? Better yet, how about we practice intolerance of intolerance – which is, quite simply, acceptance… Just. Fucking. Let. People. Be. Edit: Hey, thanks for the I’m not sleeping I’m resting my eyes Banana T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this downvotes. smh The ONE thing you cannot stand for is intolerance. From anybody. “Oh, we don’t serve ‘gays’ here.” “We love our immigrant past (who is Irish? Or Italian? Hungarian? Indian? Sri Lankan?), but we don’t want these new immigrants here. Look. I applaud the ban, but it doesn’t go far enough. When you single out a group or set of groups, you are on your way to an extremist point of view. Because book banning is what happens when “let people be” in effect. There has to be a line drawn, and people wouldn’t easily accept it unless a law or rule is created to enforce it.

I dunno. Threatening to pull all library funding if even one book is banned seems like playing right into these fanatics hands, no? I imagine the I’m not sleeping I’m resting my eyes Banana T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this librarians still have their job of curating shelves. This doesn’t just let anything up without consideration. I hope IL holds up to this instead of doing the DeSantis bullshit of “BUH ACHTUALLY I DIDN’T TECHNICALLY BAN BOOKS!” Ok now someone’s gonna have to make a ban on bans on book bans. Hell, if enough entities do bans on book bans, we could make a book of bans on book bans, and if enough entities ban those, then we could make a book of bans on books of bans on book bans. Sadly, it seems like you just don’t get funding if you don’t follow the standards. Unfortunately, many of these shitheads are willing to let their libraries rot. Nice to see, but I cannot understand how there can be any kind of book ban in a country with a First Amendment.
