Today I have spent so many years getting my shiz together that I now have no time for bs, neither from myself nor others. Heres what I have learned, I had to want to change, when I did, the If It’s Not My Smart Mouth It’s My Facial Expressions Cow Flower shirt moreover I will buy this people who had worked on themselves with their own boundaries, my mentors, were incredibly valuable to me. A lot of people actively tore down my efforts and acted like barriers to me changing. The people who had worked on themselves who had boundaries to prevent me from harming their wellbeing held space and that was magic. Today I mentor others and I hold them accountable, I hold my boundaries and I will never do anything for or with anyone that is not right for me. I dont want to tell you what to do, but this guy needs help and more than anything he actually needs a friend. He seems to be depressed, and yes it is very draining being friends with a depressed person, maybe you could suggest he see a therapist and tell him that you care. Say no to the pub. Do those fun activities with him and then firmly tell him you are going home. Are you on good terms with his mum? Express to her your concerns. Honestly bro he needs help, i wish you and him the best

You don’t necessarily have to stop being friends. Lead by example and be strong. Be adamant that you’re quitting drinking, that you won’t be going to the If It’s Not My Smart Mouth It’s My Facial Expressions Cow Flower shirt moreover I will buy this pub anymore to avoid that temptation, and tell him that you hope he can join you in doing so. If he just wants to continue living that old life then he’s going to be going to the pub on his own, and that will be an excuse to maybe cut down on seeing him so much. If he decides to join you in pursuing sobriety then that’s a huge first step into getting his life together. I had a friend that I’ve known since school (we are both 37) we both work at the same place a little over an hour away and for 4 years had been sharing lifts to work. However this friend is one of the most negative, judgemental people I’ve ever met. He always knows what people should have done and is a self proclaimed expert in everything. He absolutely loved confrontation and would actively seek it out. Never shy of a good facebook argument. Most people cannot stand this friend, including me he has 4 people he could count as “friends” one of those friends even has him blocked on facebook to avoid his comments
