Chuck in a couple dream time stories about the I’am a gamer dad like a normal dad much cooler control video game vintage T-Shirt it is in the first place but hairy men and bunyips/yowies and how Australia’s big foot is much easier to find To be fair when people find out you are moving to Australia the stories start to come out to the point that you really are expecting it. I certainly got myself completely wound up about the spiders for the first year or so. This wasn’t helped by the first house we lived in being infested by white tails. The highlight of that house was either the hatchlings being all over the ceiling of our bathroom and we were running out of Mortein, or the white tail crawling along my arm in bed. After a while it went from: “Oh shit a Red Back/Hunstman” to “Oh look a Huntsman/Red Back, get the spider catcher/ mortein {delete as appropriate}”. Once we understood about barrier sprays and bug bombs, we had no issue inside, and anything outside is fine by me. Used to actually try and rescue huntsman from those parasitic wasps when I could.

That infestation sounds horrific, but a good pest control guy should be able to sort something like that. Not something most people would live with lol We complained to the I’am a gamer dad like a normal dad much cooler control video game vintage T-Shirt it is in the first place but agent who came back with: “goes with the territory.” The house had been cleaned when the owners took possession, but it took a few months to rent and the critters moved in. There were sacks of eggs in the cutlery draw and behind every curtain. Honestly, once it was cleaned and everything sprayed it was good, but we ended up moving after a couple of years after being let down by the agent/landlord. The following tenants trashed the house and gardens, so I guess everyone learned their lesson? Yeah Australians love to stereotype America but complain the other way around. The irony is too thick lol. At least the Australian stereotypes are innocent not like the ones about America that seem very meanspirited constantly talking about healthcare or gun violence or Americans being dumb.
