Ask any Qs you may have, I really love helping guide people to find more of the Hershey Bears Animal Love Grizzly shirt and I love this loving awareness this life has to offer/teach. It’s an American thing. Rush, rush, rush, make money, spend money to keep that capitalist society afloat. It’s soul crushing! Sadly at one point the adults did know a lot and were good leaders for the children but we are a few decades out from that with mass media and social media. You went from people using their time to learn and gain skills to people trying to “kill” time by watching brainless content while simultaneously being dumbed down. You sound like you’re already taking some good steps. Mindfulness, meditation and breathing techniques can help a lot to calm the mind and body. I absolutely have this issue – the “push yourself past your limits and keep going” problem, the “no you have to get everything done NOW” problem. I’m chronically ill with a chronic pain and fatigue disorder so that has really forced me to grapple with that issue because you literally *can’t* live that way with this disorder without making yourself sicker. I think an underlying issue is that we aren’t taught to have any *compassion* for ourselves. We’re in many ways taught to actively be cruel to ourselves, and it shows in how we ignore our health to keep pushing. One of the things I love about meditation is how it helps train us to fix that in ourselves – it’s definitely helped me be more compassionate to myself over time.

Also, as far as the Hershey Bears Animal Love Grizzly shirt and I love this fight or flight, I’d recommend looking into polyvagal theory – there are some really good tips there on how to retrain your body to stop going into fight or flight automatically – combined with meditation I’ve found it really helpful. I feel like I am always saying that! I feel like I’m constantly running late or am behind on something. It got so bad that I started waking myself up 2+ hours early every day, just to give myself that down time but it doesn’t matter, I always end up feeling rushed or like there is something else I should be catching up on. Meditation has been helpful, especially the last couple months when I started making it a priority every day. Practice, practice, practice…. Unlearn things like rushing to work by leaving earlier. Drive the speed limit and take casual walks in a park or nature trail. These are some of the things I did to unlearn the rush behavior I had instilled in me since I was in college. This technique I use for many things to bring myself back into a state of being for mental clarity and focus. This works in all sorts of activities.
