This movie had me laughing the Happy Everything Snoopy And Charlie Shirt Besides,I will do this whole time generally for the wrong reasons. So much nonsense plot was crammed and it felt like it never was going to end. Wait for the streaming release, after the hype dies I think people will come to their senses It’s way too long for what little it has to offer. Lots and lots of standing around in shadows mumbling exposition. Perfunctory antagonists who only exist to be interrogated. A forced, unconvincing love interest. And then a slap-dash last act. Overall, an uninspired, derivative narrative cobbled together from superior neo-noirs like Taxi Driver and Se7en, underlined by a trite, monotonous music score. It’s kind of a given that Pattinson would end up being the best portrayal of Batman on film. His only real competition was Bale, who could never figure out the subtlety of showing any emotion other than rage under the cowl. I also doubt anyone under the age of 30 gives a shit about all the actors that came before Bale, let alone the goofy movies they were a part of. The Dark Knight trilogy is the only other representation of Batman that I acknowledge on film.

The good in this movie far outweighs the Happy Everything Snoopy And Charlie Shirt Besides,I will do this bad, certain scenes are straight up chilling to the bone and you’ll wish you were watching it on a bigger screen with an even louder speaker set. One scene in particular stuck out to me like a sore thumb in a movie that’s otherwise painfully slow, which is when you first see the Batmobile (which just ends up being a JROTC recruits dream car). It introduces itself with a screeching roar in the forefront of Giacchino’s menacing score that slowly builds up to a crescendo abruptly cut short by Batman waving a metaphorical red flag at the Penguin (played beautifully by Colin Farrell, Leto should take notes), inviting one of the most beautiful car chase sequences I have ever seen on film. The tight framing by Reeves in combination with Fraiser’s absolutely gorgeous eye for subtle contrast in the film and Giacchino’s terrifying score is an unforgettable sequence and will forever be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in a Batman movie.
