Thirdly, the Happy Easter Charlie’s Friend Shirt in other words I will buy this Riddler was incredibly disappointing and felt like an imitation of the Joker. The film tried to make him so sinister and scary, but he just came off as incredibly goofy, especially towards the end where he’s freaking out. My boy Andy Serkis had nothing to work with here. He’s literally has 5 minutes of screentime and disappears from the rest of the film after the 2nd act. For what little he had, he was a pretty decent Alfred. Finally, Robert Pattinson didn’t feel like Batman, nor Bruce Wayne for that matter. I respect Rob as an actor, and I really enjoy his latest films, however, I felt the writing and directing really let him down this time around. He’s so subdued to the point that he has very little dialogue. Overall, I personally don’t see the hype, if you enjoyed it, more power to you.

This is basically my take as well. Pretty disappointing, bad villain, average batman. It’s weird how “too many villains” is often a criticism of superhero movies but I haven’t seen anyone complain about it here yet. The movie was paced poorly and failed to juggle riddler, falcone, penguin, Selina, etc. and in the Happy Easter Charlie’s Friend Shirt in other words I will buy this end batman was basically a side character, and Alfred was basically absent. Maybe in a world without the Nolan trilogy or Arkham games I would have loved this, but I can’t get behind it when there’s better batmen. Yeah, I was so hyped after hearing the praise it got from critics and audiences. It was during the final act where I lost my patience as the movie kept going after the Riddler was captured. However I really lost my shit when I discovered that the climax of the film wasn’t going to be a methodical mind game between the Riddler and Batman, it was going to be a showdown between Batman and a bunch of idiotic online incels. It’s just a ridiculous climax.
