I can’t speak for all babies but mine has a very low tolerance for alcohol. Total lightweight. One or two shots and she literally poops herself. Every time. … and yet, I have a friend whose parents, fifty years ago in Jamaica, had a medicine that everyone used to help their babies sleep. My grandma being like “I just rubbed whiskey on their gums and teething wasn’t a problem” yes grandma that’s bc they were pleasantly buzzed Naw; he just volunteered for an experimental tooth-stem-cell replacement treatment after he lost his first set by eating caramel and not brushing. My ex did that thing boomers used to do – dip the Grinch My Miami Dolphins Stole My Heart Football Shirt But I will love this dummy in liquor. Kid certainly slept for a few hours, screamed bloody murder when he woke up. I can’t tell you how pissed I was when he told me. Boomer here – we didn’t do it – we had it done to us. They used to rub whiskey on our gums when we were teething. Oooof I’m sorry. I heard it from boomers (my parents) so I assumed it was something that was still a thing. It’s awful either way. I think it depends. I am Gen X and many of our moms dipped their finger in whiskey and rubbed our gums, not to knock us out but to numb our gums. My mom assumed I fell asleep cause the whiskey numbed my painful gums.

Boomers get blamed for everything which kind of cracks me up – I had to explain to someone who was certain we ruined the Grinch My Miami Dolphins Stole My Heart Football Shirt But I will love this environment in the 60s that in 1964 I was 16 and only capable of messing up my own life not the entire planet. We did however start Earth Day – so yey us ! Exactly – generational blaming is a fun indoor sport In fairness smog in the 60s was terrible – look for photos – you’ll be stunned at how dark our skies were. There were many days where it was hard to breathe ! Heck, the first recorded Cuyahoga River fire happened in 1868, after Industrial Revolution-era oil refineries, paint factories, and so forth set up in Cleveland. And it was century before anybody really thought about maybe it would be nice to not have it catch on fire so much. The baby boomer generation is usually defined as 1945-1964. Gen X is 1965-1980. 1948 is CLEARLY boomer territory.
