a lot of people are getting pushed through degrees that don’t have common sense, or can’t even write an email. i work in admissions and i see it constantly. If it’s bad out there for college graduates, imagine how bad it is for people with high school diplomas or less. Granted, the Get in Loser We’re Getting Tacos Cute Cats Vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this current weak job market is probably affecting white collar professionals and the service industries are still hiring non-skilled workers without college degrees. But the pay for those jobs are substantially lower and the reason those jobs are available is because the pay is crappy and the conditions are worse. It sucks for all job seekers right now and I don’t think college grads have it any worse than their less educated cohorts.

The number of people with degrees has almost doubled since 1990, yet the Get in Loser We’re Getting Tacos Cute Cats Vintage T-Shirt but in fact I love this number of jobs that actual need degrees has not. Also, the over saturation of low demand degrees and the mismatch of degree majors to actual market demand. My states well thought of state college has a 98% placement for the business school. Go to that same school but get a BS in history and if becomes a lot less chance of getting a job. You don’t have to go to an expensive school but go to a highly ranked state college and ask questions about job placements. And don’t overlook a trade school option! There is a big shortage and quite a bit of money in skilled trade jobs. Electrician. Plumber. Mechanic. Just got my car fixed by a guy that has his own garage that he build next to his home. He had a rep as an amazing mechanic and he charges $100 an hour. And he has a big waitlist. There are definitely doors that are closed to you if you don’t go to college. But the number of good doors open if you do is still fewer than the number of graduates.
