Very true. Colleges are largely in sales now, like the wonderful people who sell us cars and houses. And they are the ones running the colleges now, along with the administration staff. The college professors no longer run the colleges. What’s wrong with indeed? I’ve only ever used indeed and never had an issue with finding a great job on if. 3 times in the last 6 years A few decades ago, 1/50 had a degree when it came to applicants. Then 1/25…and so on. College was pushed so much, that the market got dilluted and the value went down. The same thing happened to attorneys. Something is valuable when it is tougher to come by. When they start getting pumped out more and more, the value goes down.

Pharmacist is another one. There were 80 pharmacy schools and a pharmacist shortage in 2000. Now there are 140 pharmacy schools and no pharmacist shortage. Most pharmacists work in retail, and hate their jobs now because labor budgets for tech help have been slashed while wages have stagnated. They are stuck doing more with less and have to work much harder. The people saying certain degrees open jobs are wrong. I’m a history major and that’s all I heard during college. But now I make 70k working from home with great benefits 2 years out of college. All my friends who have good degrees (STEM, CS, business etc) are unemployed or working at grocery stores after job searching for years. Friend with phd in rural small town NC had to move to Boston to get a job because no one would give him any offers in said shitty small town. I haven’t heard any STEM majors being unemployed, specifically engineering. Literally all engineering graduates became employed shortly after graduating
