Uhhh SSRIs shouldn’t be taken as needed. You take them daily or you don’t take them. And in return I’d be mentally well enough to take care of the baby. They also informed me that Zoloft is the best SSRI for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

It’s the worst all body discomfort that won’t go away no matter how hard I scratched. I also took Zoloft throughout my pregnancy which was advised but they also let me know my baby may have withdrawal symptoms for a short period of time too. For the first week she was alive she was more jittery and twitchy than a normal baby but was fine otherwise I was on 100mg my pregnancy and delivery, and my son had no symptoms of withdrawal. It seems to be a bit of a random chance (I’m sure there’s a medical explanation that I don’t understand) as to who it impacts. Zoloft is meant to be the safest SSRI, and it’s much safer for the mother to be well and healthy than at greater risk for PPD/PPA or even psychosis. Perhaps that’s why doctors wished you to stay on it?
