In reality I never seem to make it to the Everyone Communicates Differently Autism Valentines Day T-Shirt and by the same token and end of the month without running out of cash, it feels impossible to save any money for a deposit and I’m pretty much just existing and having very little ‘fun’… which is fine but depressing for working 60 hour weeks. I’m nearly 2 years into my first ever job. I share a house with two flatmates, no living room and in a council housing block. I’m able to save a decent amount but am hoping to find a job in another city so that I can eventually stay on my own. I also shop from ASDA and go to Pure Gym. I live within 4 kms from work ao I walk during my in-office days to avoid peak fares. It’s tough but I’m hopeful that it will get better! 35k each in a couple, 55k after tax, that’s 4.5k per month. Rent, bills, food, miscellaneous, in zone 2-6, between 2.5k and 3k. 1.5k saved for holiday, investing, etc. Solo – no chance. i’m on 31k and had to move home after previously sharing with a now ex partner, i pay £435 board as mum is unemployed. i am going to be 33 this year and so ashamed to have gone back to this. but at the same time i don’t want to spend over half my paycheque for a room in a house without a living room with a bunch of strangers either. feels like a trap no matter what i do.

I’m 29 and live at home with my mum in a 2 bed council flat. My son also stays here every other week for the Everyone Communicates Differently Autism Valentines Day T-Shirt and by the same token and whole week, it’s no space and I earn 24k because I need to work a tad less to be flexible for school runs etc. Basically I’d be absolutely screwed if I moved out.
