Living with my mum, applying for jobs with a bigger salary daily 🤞🏿. Planning to leave here too though. VFM is a joke. Skys the Friends Don’t Let Friends Cruise Alone Summer Vacation Retro T-Shirt and I will buy this limit if I do overtime in my job. But my basic salary is so low that I don’t think I could afford to not do some overtime for a top up. I’m on £31,000. Moved to London in October, HMRC has since refused to tax me right since stating a new job and in the space or 4 months already found myself in debt on my credit card etc. It’s been difficult. Hoping to get my tax back this month but I’m not holding my breath. With an income of 100k+ taxes really hit hard. Wife’s close to 85k. Honestly, life’s not a breeze. Have a kid and childcare’s just insane. Buying is still crazy. I feel for people here on less than 35k. Though when i hear the inhand i don’t feel that bad, considering the tax rates I pay. Just over 30k here I’ve just turned 26. It’s difficult but doable for sure. I bike everywhere and cook meals in bulk to take to work. The shitty thing is not having spending money for things and having to budget if I really want to get something. half my friends are nepo babies so watching them not have a job but go out everyday of the week and their parents paying for rent is mentally crippling.

I lived in London as a child in the Friends Don’t Let Friends Cruise Alone Summer Vacation Retro T-Shirt and I will buy this 1960’s and 70’s. Worked as a London firefighter for 32 years on low pay. Retired in 2009 age 50. Only time I lived in London during that time with my parents was from 1977 to 1983. The rest of the time I lived outside London as couldn’t afford to live there . To be honest like my parents before me, I’d never go back there. It’s changed so much for the worse. I hate to say it, but cut your cloth to suit your needs. While you cannot be in control of everything, you can decide what you eat, where you live, where you work, how you travel, what you do for entertainment or hobbies. I’m doing fine, I am careful with my money, I rent a small room, I travel a 50 minutes commute. I am making significant sacrifices, but altogether I live comfortably, and can afford going out multiple times a week, visiting family abroad and other small luxuries. It has to be said though that I am doing this while on a path to improve my situation. Doing this with no endpoint would indeed be depressing. They probably mean relative to highish salaries elsewhere. I am on £70k and I live in a studio flat for £1600pm. Anywhere else in the country and that would be unusual on such a ‘high’ salary
